Rev. Gaurri Maniam hails from Ipoh, Perak. She was born in the year 1983 and is the youngest in the family. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour through the Girls Brigade Ministry that was conducted in Methodist Girls School, Ipoh. Her family eventually experienced God and they as a family were baptised in the year 1998. She completed her primary and secondary education in MGS, Ipoh and very much planned to pursue teaching as her career. However, in 2007, the Lord graciously called her and invited her to serve Him in a full-time capacity.
She began her journey into full time ministry as an Administrative Assistant in her home church, Canning Garden Methodist Church, Ipoh. She then served as a Children Ministry Co-ordinator before entering into seminary to pursue her Bachelor of Theology. She completed her B.Th. in Malaysian Baptist Theological Seminary, Penang and joined Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC) as an itinerant pastor in the year 2014. She was ordained as an Elder in The Methodist Church of Malaysia at the end of 2017.
Her passion in ministry is to guide and lead people into a deeper relationship with God. She desires to see people serving the Lord out of the depth of their relationship with God. As it says in 1 John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us”, one needs to be rooted in God’s love deeply in order to be able to reach out in love.
She enjoys cooking, something that she discovered recently, and she appreciates spending quality time with her family and friends whenever the opportunity presents itself.
