Sunday, (Nov 1) – Pray that in the midst of all the news bombarding us concerning Covid-19, God will help us to keep our focus on Him and His unending and enduring love for us. Even as many of us have grown weary of the circumstances we live in now, and want things to be the way they used to be, pray that we will choose to keep our eyes off our problems, and fix them solely on the Lord. Thank Him for His constant care, and that He is our help and strength in the daily battles that we face. Pray that as life has changed, possibly forever, we will look to God for the constant in our lives, and trust Him as our Friend, our Guide and our Hope.
Monday, (Nov 2) – Pray for the World: The USA Presidential Election 2020 will be held tomorrow, November 3, 2020. Pray that God will grant the citizens wisdom to vote for the best candidate with the right agenda for the next 4 years. Pray that He will grant the voters discernment to detect any false hoods, or unbiblical policy proposals. Pray for a safe and fair election, and that God will remove those who might try to unjustly and illegally change the outcome of the voting. Pray that the voters will take all precautions to protect themselves against the Covid-19 virus. Pray that there will not be any spike in Covid-19 cases nor violence in the aftermath of the election.
Tuesday, (Nov 3) – Pray for Sabah as the new and active cases there have been rising despite major measures taken by the health ministry to curb them, and the health minister estimates that it could take about 1 month to contain the outbreak there. Pray for God’s grace, strength and comfort upon the Sabahans as they cope with this crisis. Pray especially for the health care workers, for good physical, mental and emotional health as they work tirelessly to care for the sick. Pray that the aggressive approaches to curb the virus in Selangor and Negri Sembilan will be effective.
Wednesday, (Nov 4) – Pray for the Nation: Pray that the politicians will show a good example to the rakyat, and listen to the Agong who has repeatedly advised them, regardless of party, to stop the political squabbling and prioritise the well-being of the people. Pray that both the ruling and opposition parties will give their full support to Budget 2021 for the well-being and the sustainability of the people’s livelihoods, as well as the recovery of the nation’s economy which has been badly affected by thee Covid-19 pandemic.
Thursday, (Nov 5) – The pandemic has badly affected the poorer strata of society, and many poor families are forced to live off their savings as they struggle to afford basic expenses, with sufficient food and bills being the 2 biggest problems. Pray that churches and NGOs will again help these families with financial help, and basic food necessities. Many coffee shops and food outlets are struggling to stay afloat because of the lack of customers due to the high number of daily infections. Pray that these food operators will be able to get financial help either from the government or soft bank loans so they will be able to keep their businesses afloat.
Friday, (Nov 6) – Pray for TRAC: The 45th TRAC Conference will be held only on one day: Sunday, November 15, 2020. It will be held fully online. Pray that the internet connections will enable all the delegates to be connected well and especially to vote correctly (on a system developed by a private company). Pray for TRAC President, Conference Secretary and all the District Superintendents who will have heavy responsibilities due to the online nature of the conference. Pray also for the Presidential election.
Saturday, (Nov 7) – Pray for our Sunday School Ministry that God will bless the teachers with strength to serve in these uncertain times by fully relying on God to be refueled and refreshed. Pray that they will be able to connect with the children they teach online even though there is no physical interaction. Pray for wisdom for the teachers as they face the challenge of getting the children engaged during the online lessons, Pray that the children will not drop out, but will continue to come for the online lessons.
