Sunday, (May 23) – Pray that we will remember to recognise Christ in the everyday journey of our lives, and daily seek His wisdom as we encounter situations and circumstances we find ourselves in, especially those beyond our control. As Jesus opened the Scriptures to His disciples, pray that He will open our eyes to see Him in His Word. Ask for forgiveness when we let the busyness of life prevent us from seeking Him, and pray that our hearts will burn with passion for His presence. Pray that we will respond to His invitation for us to abide in Him, to have our lives hidden in Him, and thank Him that He travels with us in our joys and our concerns.
Monday, (May 24) – Pray that Wesley Klang would seek to build a strong foundation through the Word, prayer and worship. Pray that the Church would be aware of the importance of building our lives upon the Word of God. Pray that Wesley Klang would be doers of God’s Word. Pray that God’s Word will make a lasting impression upon the lives of the people in Klang Wesley. Pray that God’s Word would be the source of our courage as we face the pandemic together as a Church.
Tuesday, (May 25) – As the COVID-19 situation worsens in the nation, pray that the rakyat will do their part and adhere to all the SOPs even as additional restrictions will be imposed on the economic sector and social activities to curb the continuing spread of COVID-19 cases. Designated COVID-19 hospitals in the Klang Valley are running beyond their capacity. Pray for the medical frontliners as they care for the sick, and pray for their protection from fatigue, discouragement and infection as they cope with the unprecedented huge surge of cases. Pray that people under home quarantine will stay home until they have completely recovered and are no longer infectious.
Wednesday, (May 26) – Pray for the World: Pray for God’s mercy upon India as the nation has to deal with a major cyclone that hit the country last week even as its healthcare system struggles with a coronavirus surge. Pray for God to intervene in the situation in Myanmar as thousands of people have been displaced by the fighting between the army of the junta and the insurgents, and face difficulty finding food and shelter. Praise God for the ceasefire between Israel and the militant Hamas that came into effect last Friday. Pray that the truce will continue and there will not be any future cycles of violence.
Thursday, (May 27) – Pray for the Nation: Pray for wisdom and insight for the Prime Minister and his Cabinet as they navigate the nation through this pandemic crisis. Pray that the government and the relevant health experts will synchronise effectively in their efforts to stem the spike of COVID-19 cases. Pray that the vaccination programme will continue to move smoothly and that sufficient vaccine supply will be made available to the public. As almost all districts in Peninsula Malaysia are now COVID-19 red zones, pray that God will intervene and stop this plague and heal our land.
Friday, (May 28) – Pray for TRAC:. Pray for Wesley Methodist Church, Johor Bahru, for the pastor, Rev. Wong Mun Wah and his family as they recover from the COVID-19 infection. Pray for God’s wisdom and guidance to be upon the leadership of JB Wesley as they stand in the gap for their pastor. Pray that God would draw near to them as they continue to intercede for their church. Pray that the church will stand together in the midst of this challenging time.
Saturday, (May 29) – Our nation has seen a rise in suicide cases or near-suicide cases during the pandemic as prolonged uncertainties have put many families under immense distress. Pray that people facing desperate situations will seek help through organisations such as Befrienders Malaysia, and other such organisations to help them through their critical down times. Pray also for those who are living in isolation because of the MCO, that relatives and friends will engage with them through phone calls and text messages. Pray for those who are sick and need hospitalisation / treatment in hospitals that God will protect them and keep them safe from the COVID-19 virus.
