Sunday, (Jan 1) – Christ is the head of the church and we are the body. Pray that the Lord will once again fill us with the same love and passion as the early believers in the early church. Pray that the Lord will give us persistent hunger for His Word so that our lives may be transformed to be Christlike. Pray that we as a community of God’s people in Klang Wesley will be devoted to prayer. Pray also that we will be devoted to one another by loving caring for one another. Pray that God would use Klang Wesley as a beacon of light to those who have yet to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Monday, (Jan 2) – Sunday School & Youth – The children and youth ministry are challenging and important ministries of the church. Pray that through the Sunday School & Youth ministry, we may help our younger generation to grow in the love and knowledge of God. Pray for all Sunday School teachers and as well as our Youth Counselors. Pray that the joy of the Lord will be their strength as they serve continually every week. Pray that our Sunday School teachers and youth counselors will grow in their personal walk with God as they help the younger ones to grow.
Tuesday, (Jan 3) – Pray for the church to cultivate a posture of thanksgiving to God for his faithfulness and goodness in previous years, and for God’s peace and love to strengthen his people’s faith as they enter a new year. Pray that the New Year will be focused on total obedience to the Lord, allowing him to do a new thing in the lives of his people by pressing on toward the prize of God’s upward call in Christ Jesus. Pray for a New Year’s start in 2023 that will renew our faith as a new creation in Christ and our love for God and His people.
Wednesday, (Jan 4) – Pray for the Nation: Thank God for the unity government, and pray for God’s blessings and favour on our rulers, the Prime Minister and his newly appointed cabinet ministers, as they navigate the country out of the current crisis. Pray for our Prime Minister so that he can continue to strengthen the unity government, and that good and close cooperation from his ministers will allow him to accelerate the implementation of his institutional reforms for the benefit of the nation and rakyat. Pray for God’s protection for our health system’s frontliners and rakyat, and follow our Health DG’s advice to get a booster of Covid-19 vaccine in light of China’s decision to reopen its border on January 8, 2023.
Thursday, (Jan 5) – TRAC – The TRAC Board of Ministry would be meeting on 13th of January 2023. Pray for Rev. Ashok Amarasingam who is the chairman of the Board of Ministry, as he leads this board. Pray for God’s wisdom to be upon the Board of Ministry as they address issues such as a shortage of pastors in TRAC. Commit also to the Lord all District Superintendents in TRAC, pray for God’s guidance to be with them as they carry this conference responsibility on top of pastoring churches.
Friday, (Jan 6) – Pray for children, parents, guardians and teachers as school resumes this week. Pray that after the weeks of holidays, they are readjusting smoothly to their regular schedule with schools and other activities. Pray for God’s protection upon their journey to and from school and wherever they need to go. Pray that the children are able to concentrate well in class. Pray that God will bestow His grace, strength, wisdom and patience upon the teachers, parents and guardians as they lead the children in the right directions.
Saturday (Jan 7) – Pray for Afghanistan. Pray for God’s mercy and intervention upon the nation, particularly in light of recent measures taken by its authorities to ban women from obtaining higher education and working for NGOs. Pray that the fundamental human rights of the people to be protected in the country. Pray for the recognition that both men and women are essential in their roles to contribute to the needs, growth and development of the society.
