Prayer List: 29 – 30 May 2021

Sunday, (May 30) – Pray that we will desire to reflect the nature and character of the Lord Jesus and to show forth the Fruit of His Spirit in our lives. Pray that He will prune away all those areas in us that are inhibiting the growth of spiritual fruit being produced in us, and that we may grow in grace and do only those things that are pleasing to the Lord. Pray that we will choose to live by the Spirit, and to keep in step with Him: that He will walk ahead of us and help us to follow Him; that He will walk beside us and hold us up in difficult times; that He will walk behind us and protect us.

Monday, (May 31) – A head-on collision involving two LRT trains occurred in KL last week, leaving 213 people injured, 47 of them seriously. Pray for God’s healing upon all the victims, especially those who suffered serious injuries. Pray that God will grant them mental and emotional healing from their horrific experience. Pray for the Ministry of Transport as it makes an extensive probe into the collision and to ensure that such accidents will not happen in the future. Pray for God’s protection upon all those who have to use public transport, that they will travel in safety, and be protected against the COVID-19 virus.

Tuesday, (June 1) – From today onwards, the nation has been placed under total lockdown until June 14, 2021, and all sectors are closed except for the essential economic and service sector. Pray that every individual will seriously heed the Health DG’s warning that these two weeks will be critical. Pray that the rakyat will not take a lackadaisical attitude towards this total lowdown, but will take personal responsibility to observe all the SOPs and basically to stay home. Pray that, by the grace of God, this total lockdown will bring down the daily number of COVID-19 cases. Pray that God will continue to sustain all the business sectors during this lockdown so that livelihoods will not be adversely affected.

Wednesday, (June 2) – Pray that our church will be led by the Spirit. Pray that as a body of Christ, we will be able to exhibit the Fruit of the Spirit. Pray that each one of us will grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. Pray that in all circumstances, be it good or bad, we will continue to seek Christ who is the Author and Perfecter of our faith. Pray that God would help us sustain our faith during this fierce Pandemic.

Thursday, (June 3)Pray for the Nation: Pray for divine wisdom and insight for the government so our political leaders will make good and effective decisions on how to balance the saving of lives and protecting the economy, and give clear instructions regarding the SOPs during this two-week total lockdown. Pray that the government will ensure that the vaccination rollout will be done at a faster rate and be able to fulfil its pledge for 150,000 vaccine shots to be administered daily beginning next month. Pray that the authorities will not practice double standards when dealing with people who blatantly ignore the SOPs, and deal appropriately with those who flout the SOPs, whether those people are celebrities, VIPs or the ordinary man in the street.
