Greetings to all.
I’m one of the participants of the LifeGame held during the Wesley Methodist Klang church camp (28th-30th August 2011) and I must say, it took me by surprise. Knowing that it is a game, I thought it would just be another time of light, easy time of fun. Yet this game holds so much meaning and significance that it is something everyone, regardless of his age, should go through. Another aspect of this game is its uniqueness, because it is truly one of a kind and very very few programs, teachings or talks are able to convey the lessons learnt as simply or effectively as this game. They pale in comparison, I assure you.
For a teen entering adulthood like me, it was eye-opening, enlightening and more than just a glimpse of the future. I never could have imagined what life would be as an adult – working, taking care of the family and household and the immense stress one has to endure. I was hit by the reality of today’s society, where the existence of corruption, social disparity and the corporate ladder are so real and scary. Nothing like this game would have prepared me mentally to face this harsh world. I guess it is all thanks to the accuracy of the simulation; it is as good as the real thing. But more importantly, I was reminded of what truly mattered in life, and that is for you to find out.
Thus, I urge everyone who has heard about this game and contemplating whether to join or not to stop wavering and join it! It has definitely impacted my life and realigned my priorities in line with what matters most, and I hope it would yours too. Cheers. =]
