Sunday, (Dec 13) – Thank God for our church leaders that He has appointed. Pray that they will lead by serving and following Christ. Pray that ministry, teaching and leading will never become a chore for them, but that it would always be a joy and blessing for them to serve the Lord and His people with love, and that they will enjoy every aspect of leading, whether easy or hard, for the glory of God. Pray for the church members, that in humility and submission, they will follow the church leadership in ways that will exalt the cause of Christ and bless the leaders in His Kingdom. Pray that they will show their love, respect, and support for the church leaders, and continually keep them in their prayers.
Monday, (Dec 14) – This Sunday is the third Sunday in Advent and the focus is on Joy, the joy that flooded the hearts of the shepherds, the angels, the wise men, the hosts of heaven, and Mary and Joseph that still has the power to overwhelm our hearts with rejoicing, in spite of the pandemic situation in the world. Pray that we will recognize that this joy does not come from anything we have on earth, but that it is the gift God gave us that first Christmas, and our joy is encompassed in Christ. Pray that God will flood our hearts with joy this Advent season as we reflect on the good news of Jesus’ birth. Pray that we will share this good news with those who do not know Christ, that they too may experience this same joy as they recognize Jesus as their Saviour
Tuesday, (Dec 15) – Pray for the Nation: Pray that God will uphold Malaysia in the midst of severe challenges. Pray that corrupt political leaders will be indicted and not walk free from corruption charges. Pray for an undeterred judiciary that is anointed with wisdom, strength and courage to uphold justice and righteousness, Pray that all political posturing and selfish ambitions will be thwarted, so as not to short change the interest and welfare of the people of this nation. Pray that God will bring about cleansed hearts, sincere motives, humility and good conscience in our political leaders so they will focus on the most important issues: battling Covid-19 and reviving the economy.
Wednesday, (Dec 16) – The Health Ministry warned that the war against Covid-19 is not over despite the decision to relax the conditional MCO. The daily Covid-19 cases continue to be high, expecially in Selangor. The easing of interstate traviel restrictions has prompted many to to plan leisure trips across states. Even as businesses are optimistic on the economy beginning to recover, pray that the public and the businesses will adhere strictly to the SOPs and not flout them, thinking that the pandemic is over. Pray that God will intervene, and the cases will not spike with so many restrictions being relaxed.
Thursday, (Dec 17) – Praise God for the Community Services and the Methodist Women who continue to distribute food items to the poor and needy. Pray for God’s protection upon them as they go out to distribute these food items. As the Community Services will be giving dry food items to the needy who used to get food packets from the Hot Kitchen Ministry, pray that our people will be able to reconnect with the needy people who used to come every Saturday for the food packets. Pray that the needy people who come will communicate to other needy people that Klang Wesley will be handling out dry food items on alternate Saturdays. Pray that all who come will comply with the government SOPs.
Friday, (Dec 18) – Pray for TRAC: Praise the Lord for opening the interstate travel in the past week. This smoothens the way for pastors to travel and settle into their new parishes at the end of December. Pray for these pastors and their families as they move. Pray for protection from Lord, and that He will keep them healthy.
Saturday, (Dec 19) – Pray for the World: As the pandemic shows no sign of abating, pray that God will grant world leaders wisdom, for decision-makers and law enforcers to be guided in their choices and actions so that the Covid-19 virus will be contained and not continue to spread at an alarming rate. Pray also for the scientific community, that they will find a safe and effective vaccine to contain this coronavirus and render it powerless.
