Prayer List: 12 – 13 June 2021

Sunday, (June 13) – As the number of daily COVID-10 cases has yet to dip below 4,000 and the number of daily deaths are still high, the government has extended the full MCO for another 2 weeks until June 28. 2021. Pray that the people will do their part to help break the chain of infection by conscientiously observing all the SOPs. Pray that the government will do its utmost to help small businesses so they would not have to close down because of the full MCO extension, e.g. instructing banks to extend loan repayment moratoriums until the situation has stabilised. Pray also that the vaccination programme will be speeded up so that the nation will be able to achieve herd immunity as quickly as possible.

Monday, (June 14) – Praise God that He has given us Jesus to be our Saviour, that He is the chief cornerstone of our faith, and we have been positioned in Christ and clothed in His righteousness. Thank Him for His unchangeable and unchanging Word which is the foundation upon which our faith must be anchored. Pray that the Lord will keep us ever watchful for the false teachings and doctrines that are flooding the church today, and that He will empower us to hold fast to the truth of His Word. Pray that He will help us to stand firm looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith and the only secure foundation upon whom we stand.

Tuesday, (June 15)Pray for the Nation: Pray for the political situation in the nation. Pray for divine wisdom and courage upon the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as he meets with the leaders of the various political parties. Pray for the Council of Rulers, for unity and wisdom, as the sultans meet tomorrow, June 16, that the Council will make wise decisions concerning the reinstatement of Parliament and the political future of the nation. Pray that God will grant us leaders of integrity who will look beyond just winning the next election, but who are committed to working towards finding solutions to the health, economic and social issues plaguing the country.

Wednesday, (June 16) – Ask God for forgiveness for the times when we have elevated ourselves above others who may not have the same heritage, background, social or financial status we have been granted. Pray that God will keep us humble before Him, that we may know and affirm that every member in the Body of Christ is equally important to Him, and each one has his/her specific role to play. As He has broken down every barrier that divides us, pray that we will strive to live together in perfect unity as a holy temple in the Lord, a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit

Thursday, (June 17) – It has been more than a year since Klang Wesley has been able to have physical face-to-face meetings. Pray for all the ministries that have been meeting online – the Cell Groups, Youths, Sunday School, Boys’ Brigade and Youth Baptism & Membership Class. Thank God that these groups have been able to meet online via Zoom. Pray that all the people will continue to grow and deepen in their faith despite not being able to meet physically. Pray especially for the Youths and Sunday School that the teenagers and children will not give up on these online meetings. Pray for those in charge of these meetings to find creative and interesting ways to conduct their respective meetings.

Friday, (June 18)Pray for TRAC: Bishop Joshua Khong has undertaken to connect with all TRAC pastors on a monthly basis by hosting online meetings, District by District, from June. The first round of online meetings have been fruitful. Pray that God will continue to do His good work in the life of Bishop Joshua, especially in his first year of leading TRAC from the helm. Pray that TRAC pastors may find these meetings beneficial as an avenue to share with fellow District pastors about their personal and church needs.

Saturday, (June 19)Pray for the World: USA, Canada and some nations in Europe are slowly reopening as the COVID-19 cases in these nations seem to be under control. Pray that the governments of these nations will continue to be cautious and alert and be ready to act quickly in the event of any new outbreaks. As many nations in Asia, Africa and South America continue to battle with increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases, pray that God will intervene and bring down the number of cases in these nations.
